Scumbria, you don't seem to understand my point. A normal family CANNOT afford housing in Silicon Valley. I'm not making this up. Software engineers that make $100,000 plus MAY be able to, but not everyone is at that income level. If you could find a 1,000 s.f house it would be at least $300,000. Where I live in Contra Costa County it is much cheaper than SV and a 1,000 s.f. apartment RENTS for about $1,600 a month.

One of my theories on the dem philosophy is that people that are on the poorer end of things are for it because their leaders say successful people suck. The rich people who are for it are generally hollywood types that don't have a feel for how hard it is to make it in the real world. That's why I get ticked at the divisive message they send that hard working people who succeed in America are GREEDY because they feel that 39% of your hard work is a lot to give the government. Especially when the reward is that you are portrayed as some lucky sole who won the lottery.
