debby, as you requested; Top 10 (Letterman style) reasons to fear "Bears" and and be a selective buyer of stocks.

10. They've been feasting for a year, they're bound to have a lot of energy left.

9. They've got thick skulls. You can shoot them in the head and the bullet just bounces off.

8. Those 4" claws make it really easy to punch the sell button.

7. Bears really do "crap" in the woods. They've got to be tough if they do that ALL the time.

6. Bears can't jump, so jumping out of a window is not an option for them.

5. In the original script to the movie "Austin Powers"; Austin was only afraid of two things "global thermo-nuclear war and short-sellers". This was later changed to "war and carnies, you know, circus folk"

4. Bears not known for their timid nature. Look under A@P,Tim Luke, Auric Goldfinger etc. in the dictionary.

3. I overheard some bears re-writing the words of the funk masterpiece "Disco Inferno"; something like "semi-conductor inferno" I think.

2. Clouseau (in helium voice) saying "watch out for those bears, it REALLLLY hurts if they get hold of ya!"

1. Sometimes they are so powerful that even Alan Greenspan needs to sneak up on 'em! (like today)

:)
