"California is a MESS" It's expensive, it's dirty (the cities), its VERY crowded (in metro areas), the traffic flat out sucks, poor people live in the streets in their own piss while the rest of us pay $250+ a night to step over them on the way out of a hotel (in SF anyway). State income tax is 10%, sales tax is 8 1/4%+ (depending on local tax issues), property tax at 1 1/4% (in the bay area). If you want to buy a place in S.F. where you wont get killed you should look to spend upwards of $1,000,000. Our energy bills just tripled and there is no solution in sight. Our education system is one of the worst in the country. Our governor is a laughing stock who THINKS he will be president (hahahaha). I could go on and on. On the other hand it is probably the finest piece of raw real estate of it's size anywhere on the planet.
