Lots of good jobs will produce a high cost of living all by itself. That's the point. Having all those other niceities increases the attraction, but the fact is people don't have go to movies or museums or go sailing, but the do need jobs.
You dems need to learn some economics. That's part of the reason you don't understand things. You've got the cart before the horse. As usual.

Oh, and I've been through numerous earthquakes.
