MT, I think you're right and I'm wrong. My previous post was from an intuitive understanding that out of the money calls appreciate many, many times over when they go into the money. But considering that your cost basis per 100 shares is pretty low on them to begin with, the underlying probably does appreciate more. Anyone have a website to do Black-Scholes what-ifs? I apologize for my rustiness with options -- haven't touched them since about 3 years ago. I didn't have a "bad trip" (as many do), but simply decided that it wasn't a very profitable use of my time.
