Actually, the CC yesterday was not very promising for the next 6 months with a projected revenue decline of 23% for next quarter and selective layoffs. Two of the main business areas for BRCM: cable modems and fast/gigabit Ethernet are subject to increased commoditization. To Nicholas credit, it is clear that he is now trying to reposition the company to high end higher margin markets, which might mean that over time BRCM will trim its product line. This also means that it won't be the next Intel (no mass market no Intel).
