BellSouth continues to rapidly deploy broadband services, and finished the quarter with 303,000 customers for DSL
high-speed Internet access. In the first quarter alone, the company added more than 88,000 DSL customers -- a sequential
quarter increase of 40.9 percent. Including dial-up, total Internet access customers passed the one million milestone. Total data
revenues of $1.03 billion increased 27.5 percent compared to the same quarter of 2000.
