I note too, that the liberal-s-with-your-money boys trashed all aircraft industry west of Hull by giving all the upgrade and maintenance contracts for the F-16 to Quebec. Winnipeg and Toronto air industries, once very mature, died. Kill it if it is Canadian or speaks English, import it and lend it money if it's not, is not my idea of survival politics. If a tiny countries like SA or (economically, Brazil) can do well building their own - and better - military equipment I fail to see why Canada cannot do that. We plan to fail before we try. I see that in investments too. Sane simple domestic projects with ample cash flows get passed by for exotic foreign pie in the sky. We have lots of diamonds and indications in certain areas. Even profitable gold too. (Imagine that at today's prices!) Nope. That is DeBeer's who will develop that. Or BHP. Why? Like if we did not have a railroad we would have to ask someone else to build it. Canada suffers from we-are-second-rate-so-lets-stay-that-way thinking. We have lost the 20th century. Canada will never be first in anything except poverty until we think we can do it ourselves. EC<:-}
