Klitschko-Oquendo on MCI card?
by Richard K. Redling & Alessandro Ferrarini

Former WBO heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and Clifford Etienne-conqueror Fres Oquendo could battle on the June 2 Tyson-Izon card in Washington DC. Oquendo's trainer, Felix Trinidad Sr. told El Nuevo Dia that Universum Promotion has offered the fight. "Papa" Trinidad answered that he would prefer Wladimir (the current WBO heavy champ) instead of his brother, Vitali. Talks are still in progress. FightNews reached Universum's Managing Director Peter Hanraths, who didn't comment the scenario, but Dan Goossen, who is the lead promoter for the clash in Washington DC, is currently in talks with Universum boss Klaus-Peter Kohl. To add more credibility to the eventual June bout of Vitali Klitschko in the USA, the EBU has received a request to delay the scheduled Euro title defense of Vitali against Dane Brian Nielsen.
