it's perfectly normal. lease rate spikes are usually seen at the beginning, and near the end of gold bulls.

note, lease rates are also a function of gold borrowing demand, not only potential lending supply. a decline in borrowing demand would also pressure lease rates, would however be a positive for the PoG.
