She isn't here anyway or Venerability This thread is one of the longest running and widest ranging on SI. This thread should never die. I'll start... The place looks different, I have trouble believing that I ever cared what colours they used. There are so many dusty corners and dead soldiers now that keeping track of any of it would be a monumental task. Maybe a soliloquy is the answer, I always was strong in that department. "What the hell has happened to the bright days of yesterday, did they ever exist, our predictions seemed shameless as we begin the slow march to 2002. Are we real here, I feel like I am looking at the crux of the matter when I look at this thread. Am I truly represented here in any way, can you hear any of this ? I am like a lot of posters on SI. SI will always be a touchstone for me, a place to seek out the living heart of the community. It still beats here, but you have to listen so closely now. Our power to change the present is diminishing and we are becoming part of the fabric of the next network, a building block. I guess that's what the Quebecers mean when they say "C'est la vie."
