I am not sure that I agree with your premise about the market never being wrong. I think that at any given time, the market is very wrong, but over time, the mean accuracy is correct. Further, I think that Bob was only one facet of SI and SI is only one small facet of GNET which was only one facet of INSP, and therefore the stock price probably doesn't indicate a whole lot in this regard. Further, I don't think that there was any question that Bob would not be coming back to SI...I think that he is gone for good and have thought this from the day that he left. My question on this thread is which discussion site would survive and prosper...and to me, it is still an open question.
