Didn't CSCO recently write off a fibre optic firm they bought for 500mill-ish some time ago ?


I think it was Monterey Networks, a company that was developing an optical router....

Why would Cisco want to buy a fiber plant? Most likely, Corning, JDSU, and Nortel are interested. Perhaps even Pirelli...
