Jeff has a lot to smile about. At least $100 million in his own bank account. The most recognized smile on the planet.

This is unfortunate but true. I just asked Laura if I should get $100 million for creating a profitable web presense. She believes I should but I do not see anyone giving it to me.

Amzn is the only real major pure play e-tailer left standing. That must give Jeffie a huge advantage.

I still do not believe pure play can work for products. Service yes but for products dual channel is required. One could argue that with Toys R s and now Borders they are dual channle but that is not really the case.

I am not varying from my prediction of death either in Q4 2001 or the latest Q1 2001. That will not hold true if Amazon can rasie cash from the equity markets which I believe they are really trying to do. I know they say they don't need it;-)

By way, sign of economic slow down, the landlord of the shopping center in Meadville filed chapter 11 this week. The center is now held by the bank. I would like to buy it but I am a touch short even though the bank is willing to take only what is owed on the property. I would really persue it but it is not a business I know well and a lot of risk for this stage of my life.
