I'm just trying to tune out the noise and keep things in perspective. Why did we go up?? Here's what happened:
The word was INTC was to see upper teens, the SOXX to 420, possibly even 210.
Then Joesph flopped around, rumor had it that he was going to make a bullish call on semis, instead made a negative call on INTC, flopped again and made a bullish call on semis based on CY having no orders.
Then Greenspan cut after an emergency meeting.
And here we are.
It's been wild. The charts are steep. We just went from, slowdown, to bear market, to recession, to doom and gloom, to everything is fine, all within months, so I'm pretty sure it will change fast again. Things are moving at lightening speed these days.
Cash is king at this point, IMO.
I saw this evening Datek is laying off also, to go along with NT.
