Malcolm,

You might be trying to take over Cha2's spot as my agent, but you'll have to do a better job. :)

from early on [Mike] explained that SEBL was a gorilla

Actually, I was probably the last person on the planet closely following Siebel from a Gorilla-Gaming perspective to label the company a Gorilla. I'm rather proud of the many reasons I was so late to join the party, but it's indisputable that others were right about that long before me.

Mike Buckley is a legend on this thread

Merlin has been a tremendous and generous contributor here.

But let's put things in perspective, OK?
Merlin was first, here, with his call on the Mighty Q. He actually lagged behind UF in calling SEBL a gorilla, although he led UF and others to the SEBL trough.

However, it's a little known fact that Merlin took out 3 mortgages on his house to fund his unfortunate expedition into RAIN. Running the numbers on his HP 12c calculator for the 3rd mortgage was the event that actually "blew" the cover off the battery slot.

For which he now is trying to publically scam a new cover.

PS: Rambus may be a gorilla in the making; witness its sales growth of RDRAM the past 6 months; Sony, Intel, Toshiba, NEC, EMC......pretty good value chain.
