Skeeter I get it now but every stock has this same type of attribute. If not for the mkt makers and specialists and some varied forms of outright illegal manipulation, it would be a zero-sum game.

Do you recall the stock that was going to try to defeat this ? It was supposed to ipo and trade only over the internet. They had no product or service, and of course no revenue, and no vc funding. Once they got the ipo money they were going to use it come up with a product or service, and go from there. Or so they said.

The idea was that they were going to ipo this thing, basically a shell, over the internet, and each bid had to be higher than the last trade. No lower offers to buy would be accepted. So in theory it would never go down and buyers would be assured of profits.

Besides the obvious idiocy of such a scheme, it was the ultimate example of the maniacal bubble gone even worse. I assume it went nowhere. The sec may have stopped them, i don't recall. I checked the web site a few times mso after it was all over the bus news, but the web site was never updated. I sent them a couple of less than flattering emails and they never responed.
