Our connection and the few computers we connect to have had the same address for over two years. But it is not contractually guaranteed. Just the effect is the same. The bit about DHCP is just a convenience for the user to make it un-necessary to configure/edit network settings. Since most people would have to be hand-held through that process. It is easier to just use the default of dhcp.


OK. I had not really paid attention to the assigned numbers.
