Hello Peter, Thanks for the details. But one "confused"
question from an x-Novice (WN1) please ...

When you refer to Transmit Power being decreased by one decibel ..
I assume that your reference for them is one milliwatt (or dbm measurements).

What is the reference for the "3db, over nominal 6db" antenna gain.
Is the Antenna gain measurement "voltage or current based ?

Anyway, just playing with db ...
looks like the "result" is ...

is an "apparent" 2 db transmitter power gain ...

for every "actual" 3db, of xmt antenna" gain ??

Hoping my question makes some sense :-)

Mardy

Hi, Peter - Thanks for your response. Many implications, especially...

"The FCC will propose new ISM rules May 10th, and it will be an interesting IEEE 802.11/15/16 meeting May 14-18."

Interesting, indeed Peter. ;-)

Regards,

Jim
