And once again, the false dichotomy rules. If you don't accept Neocon's God, nothing has any meaning. Personally, I can live without "meaning" in the Neoconese sense, but that's a subjective choice, I guess.

. There is no free will, since in Russell's universe there are only two alternatives, strict physical causality or randomness, not self- determination. Self- awareness is an illusion, since "consciousness" would be diffuse throughout a system, with no summary point. Solon's post reminded me that I owe you a response on this. I think I finally have at least a general understanding of your point. That's the good news. The bad news is that I don't have a ready response. The notion is so strange that I need to ponder the matter some more. Karen
