Speaking of patents - NICORE a new entry in the business with a VASO knock-off.

theheart.org

The easy-profits pitch certainly screams out of the marketing materials of the newest entrant, Nicore, Inc (now based in Tampa, FL, but with reportedly 2000 systems placed in China). In August 2000, Nicore received a quick 510K approval from the FDA by piggybacking onto the earlier submission of the front-runner Vasomedical, which itself dovetailed onto an earlier submission by Cardiomedics (Irvine, CA). Nicore thanked them both by selling its services at half the cost of the predecessors' $150 000-$200 000 sales prices, evidently without the same warranty, service, and training commitments of its competitors. Gentlemen, start your patents, please.
