My point is this, merely because Clinton is an amiable person in public does not give him license to cheat the American court system with bald-faced lies. Jefferson would not have approved of such a thing. We really cannot make a comparison between Clinton and Jefferson.

Merely because you’ve met Clinton and liked him does not absolve you of the responsibility to use your mind to judge whether by legal principle he is at fault. We ought not throw away law because we’ve become mesmerized by the snake’s glare. We should always maintain a way to shake ourselves out of such weak-mindedness. The law does exactly that. By law we maintain collective stability of mind so that we might protect ourselves from us.
