Twenty years from now we'll be looking back on graphs of relative valuations, say for instance one of 'market cap per ounce', or 'market cap per million dollars worth of economic rock in the ground' ... i think we'll find there's a historical average after converting to constant dollars, and then we'll find that '96 valuations were well above that average, while '01 valuations were well below it ... and that '05 and '10 valuations provided excellent returns for those getting in during '01, provided they didn't pick too many duds.

But we are all converted here, and take that as axiom .... this sure has been a great thread lately - Subject 33190
... last few hundred posts are worth going through twice imho .... and it gets read - here's an old friend who knows it - investorshub.com

<<<(spud's ref to getting a double out of SUF...we all know spud the scalper would be out long before a double LOL) and thus a very good reason why a lot of Canadian stocks don't move like the old days..So many little generals are happy with a quick half a buck(me included) that a stock can't gather momentum..yes the internet ain't it grand.>>>

You wound me. One thing you don't know is how I react to SUF. You could be right with any other stock,....but SUF is my love,...and where else could you get a stock for $2.80 (valued under CDN$100 million market cap that could lay claim to 40 million oz PGM,...equivalent perhaps 100 million oz Gold in $US equivalent. Mr. teevee won't name the sharks circling her,...but I will,...PDG and ABX to name a few, looking to diversify out of gold.

But I and other shareholders beat off the last Piranhas, and will beat off the next ones, hopefully. This is one stock that should be able to beat off a hostile takeover,...because the majority of shares are in friendly hands.

What blows me away is North Americans are chasing prospects that may prove up a couple million oz PGM's,...and South Africa Bushveld blows them all away. I am Canadian,...and agog at the stupidity of others (gggggggggggggggg).

By the way,...where to hell were you when Winspear got bought out for a song for $5.50,...what a slap in the face. POS was worth north of $25 and no one stood up for her. Talk to DeBeers now,...POS is suddenly worth tens of Billions of dollars. We are Canadians,...we are stupid arseholes.
