Cyrix released 2 processors in that time frame. One of them sent the cost of PC's plummeting.

Well actually, Intel knew that there was a low end market. That was why they previously introduced the 75 MHz Pentium. The processor that would change the world with respect to the viability of the low end market was the MediaGX, which was not introduced until later (but this might be what Scumbria is talking about).
