I've got a good story about insurance and section 8. My niece decided to rent their house in Tacoma to section 8 tenants against my warning. The tenants did about 10k worth of damage within a year. My niece had insurance to cover tenant damage so they make a claim. The insurance company decides that every different thing that is destroyed is a separate incident and subject to the $500 deductible as such. I think they found 15 separate incidences some of which weren't big enough after the deductible.

Needless to say, my niece then found herself in the unenviable position of suing her insurance company. They settled for a figure close to the damages....but then the lawyer fees, etc..you know the drill.
