The Bubble 2 Chronicles

Overheard on the downtown bus from UC Santa Barbara today. Verbatim.

A very thin, very pale girl aged around 20 sits down to my right and gets out her cell phone.

"Did you see the stock Market?"
"Pentium went up 70%"
"Pentium. I made $50,000 yesterday."
"I'm not kidding. $50,000."
"It's OK, it's borrowed money, from credit cards"
"I need 10,000 more. I'm going to get a loan from Wells Fargo."

I didn't say anything as that would be a thankless task. Now I've just checked and there is no such company called Pentium, so I presume she meant Intel (?!!) and she was trading options.
