EMC Rises as Merrill Notes New Strategy thestreet.com EMC (EMC:NYSE - news) was up 3.9% in midmorning after Merrill Lynch analyst Tom Kraemer said in a note that he still has concerns about near-term revenue due to the economy, but the data storage company is undertaking a major extension of its product line. Kraemer, who said Merrill met with EMC's chief technology officer Wednesday, said the company will begin selling a series of software products that will make it more competitive with several other vendors.
