No wonder you sold!!! VSEA Director Susan B. Felch certainly must be costing us stockholders:
WIDMANN: Okay. Do you think that's true of any other employees in the workplace, that they should be allowed to use work time to prosecute claims personally against other people outside the workplace?
FELCH: In this case it's very hard to separate the personal claims. I mean, the personal claims are all from work-related incidents.
WIDMANN: Okay. You're aware of people in the workplace who are suing their employer and people in the company for things such as sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, things like that?
FELCH: Yes.
WIDMANN: Is it your understanding that those people should be paid their wages when they have to go to their deposition?
FELCH: On the defense side?
WIDMANN: On any side, plaintiff or defense.
POPPE: You're asking Sue Felch's personal opinion?
FELCH: My personal opinion?
WIDMANN: She's the person most knowledgeable.
POPPE: About the amount of damages.
WIDMANN: Right. I'm trying to find out how this amount was calculated and why Ms. Felch seems to think that her personal issues with Ms. Day and Mr. Delfino should be included in this damage amount because it's my understanding people have to take time off from work, use vacation time, in order to go to their deposition or work on their lawsuit.
FELCH: In this case that was not the position taken.
WIDMANN: Okay. Was that your idea or Varian's idea?
POPPE: Was what?
WIDMANN: The position that you would be able to work on your personal lawsuit, that part of it at work, and still get paid for your hours.
FELCH: I think it was a mutual understanding.
