ONE OF HIS BEST WINS - On 5-20-00 in Atlantic City, NJ, he TKO'd defending champion Corrie Sanders (36-1): it was a wild and exciting fight; both fighters were rocked in the 2nd round; Hasim was knocked down midway through the 3rd round, but as Sanders moved in for the finish, Hasim flattened him with a right hand; Hasim scored another knockdown in the 4th and hurt Sanders several times in the 7th; the referee stopped the fight at 1:50 of the 7th round; after six completed rounds, Hasim led 58-55 on all three scorecards.

On 4-15-99 in Miami he knocked out Louisville, KY, veteran Arthur "Stormy" Weathers in the 1st round
On 3-12-99 in New York he TKO'd Michael Rush (17-3-1): Hasim won every round and opened a huge gash over Rush's left eye in the 5th; Rush went to one knee and the referee stopped the fight at 2:40 of the 5th round

CONTROVERSIAL LOSS - on 12-19-98 in Miami he made his third USBA defense against fellow top-ten ranked contender David Tua (32-1): it was also an IBF world title eliminator; Hasim dominated the fight with his jab and built a lead, but Tua kept pressing and rallied in the 7th round; he controversially landed a left hook clearly after the bell that left Hasim dazed; the rules call for a five minute rest period, but one was not given; Hasim had not recovered at the start of the 10th, and the referee stopped the fight at 0:35 of the round, a TKO win for Tua he had several tests previously, and came through with solid performances in every one
On 3-14-98 in Moscow he TKO'd Washington, DC, veteran Melvin Foster (21-6-1) in the 2nd round

ANOTHER BEST WIN - on 7-15-97 in Rochester, NY, he fought tough southpaw Jeff Wooden (17-3): the early rounds saw some great action; Hasim knocked down Wooden in the 2nd round, but Wooden rallied in the 3rd; Hasim rallied and scored a standing-8 count in the 8th round, another one in the 9th, knocked down Wooden in the 9th, and the referee stopped the fight at 1:44 of the 9th round
