Traditionally, the period between May and October is seasonally weak for technology stocks in general, that figures in the turnips forecast as one of many elements. As for the fed meeting on may 15th, it might very well be the anticipation of another rate cut starting around May 9th that forces the "between two tops" bottom on May 9th. The nature of the bounce (and the retrenchment here) will have a lot to do with the continuation of the current scenario. Tax legislation will also be important, as I have mentioned before. A tax cut that creates a lot of additional capacity will lengthen the malaise, a tax cut that stimulates end demand will put an end to the current bear move, IMHO. No tax cut and continuation of budget surpluses will be an unmitigated disaster (under 1400 on the Naz IMHO, but not until after the next cyclical bull moves peaks next year.
