Not handy, sorry. I think all they try to do is compare the purchasing power of a dollar from one time to another. It's just an approximation, anyway. Nobody who works with the data ever claims it's anything other than an approximation.

So a dollar's worth of grapes isn't ever going to be the same as a dollar's worth of milk, or bread, or shoes. They do the best they can trying to keep things equivalent, IMO. And then you get conspiracy theorists who say it's all meaningless anyway because "they" are trying to control us using fake data. No win situation there.
