it's hard to imagine that more 'throughput' is needed when it comes to porn content... { sorry }

It would be my guess that those seeking porn content arn't in a real hurry anyhow. Keep in mind I am just guessing.

<<Seriously, the $1000 per month is far lower that what it was five years ago. >>

yes, see, you a big part of WCOM and T's troubles!

Maybe but they still seem to want to keep my as a customer. I could end that by not paying the bill <G>

You could be right about phone lines. cable is quite popular in our area. The "moms" all use the email like crazy to keep in touch and to plan and update various kiddie-related activities that are going on.

Most people I know have a separate phone line. They do not have broadband nor are they willing to pay for it even at $49.95/month. They pay about $22.00/month for the extra phone line and $20.00 to $21.95 per month for their ISP. That is $42-$44.00 per month. Now many do not have a $40 NIC card but geez that is not a big deal. A computer to most people really is an appliance. They can point and click but are clueless as to how it works. You scare them to death when you talk about a NIC card. Heaven for a bid back-ups <G> Most do not know what the term URL means but they do know to point and click on a hyperlink. Of course, they do not know what "hyperlink" means. I have found almost no one around here that knows what "http" stands for.

When a new aquaintance comes to my house (this does not happen often because I am not a social butterfly and neither is my wife.), they see a computer in almost every room and think I have totally lost it. They do not seem to mind asking me to help them with theirs, however.

Oh well...set aside the evening of the Amazon conference call for my wife and I. I bought top notch single malt scotch and some blended whisky she likes. We will listen to the call, then put on a DVD and then...well guess.. I am looking forward to a fine evening of comedy, then action and entertainment:-) In that order too. I was looking for a comedy DVD but could not find a movie as funny as the conference call will be. Action or horror will be better. Maybe drama.
