Cash costs dropped $10 to an average of $186
Total cost dropped $ 7 to an average of $238

Since the average price was $279 in both 1999 and 2000,
the average margins were higher in 2000 than in 1999.
Effectively, the situation for the average miner seems to have improved in 2000
