Street,

The 1968 Winter Olympics were held in Grenoble, France. The ski jumping event was held on the edge of town.

Today that would be impossible. Grenoble gets very little snow anymore, and skiers have to go several thousand meters up to find quantities of snow sufficient for skiing.

The same is true in most of northern Europe, as well as the Southwestern US. During the 1990's snowfall in New Mexico and Arizona was so poor, that some formerly booming ski areas remained closed for entire seasons.

Climatic change is happening at an alarming rate.
