Otherwise we would need to change the name of this country to the USSA( United Socialist States of America). Why should you and I pay for every bum out there who fails to provide for their future? Grow up.knc

you might want to think this FICA thing through a bit more. when i pay for FICA, i am not "providing for my future". basically, these payments are a wealth transfer from today's youth to old retired people. geographically, florida is a net recipient of FICA payments (due to its high concentration of old people), so as a florida resident, i'd think this would be pleasing to you. since most young people do not expect to receive social security, FICA is basically a tax on them and not an "investment" for them. since it is a tax and not an investment, it seems to me unfair for this tax burden to fall disproportionately on low wage earners.

i say this as a matter of opinion.
