RE:"This sounds like Niceguy's prediction on Tuesday over on the Mod thread that AMD and Intel stock prices would "crossover" on Wednesday and that AMD would open at 35. Two bad predictions in one sentence. A record even for him. Your prediction that AMD is going to swamp Intel in mobile chips based on the apparent fact that at least they now have an offering seems to be in the same category and just a tad premature"

Be nice to Niceguy. Some day, when your stocks are in the tank, you'll read one of his posts and regain some hope.

Frank,

Your prediction that AMD is going to swamp Intel in mobile chips based on the apparent fact that at least they now have an offering seems to be in the same category and just a tad premature.

I have a feeling that any AMD design win will do less positive for AMD than negative for Intel, since the prices will move from monopoly rates to competitive rates. The net result is that the total revenues from notebook segment will be lower than before. The high ASP in the mobile segment that AMD is hoping for will not materialize.
