Hi Tradermike,

' When he was campaigning for the Republican nomination Bush claimed that China was the best example in the world today of how democracy has advanced because of free trade.''
Sadly our man Chrétien parrots the same line.

'You may agree or disagree with the demonstrators but no one can be against the right for people to freely assemble.'
I find myself not encouraged by the governments handling of these talks, time after time. Many problems would disappear if the talks were held more openly.

regards
Kastel

My bet is that W will be saying the same thing soon. Only a Republican can say it with conviction, without blinking, and then there will be more giant pandas on the way within the blink.

Weapons build up all around anyway, as there is no reason at all for either side to take a chance.

So predictable:)

BTW, Bush's claim is correct, and Russia is probably the worst example. China is merely following in the path of Korea and Taiwan, as opposed to Russia, India, or Indonesia.
