Hi Jay - Alternate perspective:

What if all CSCO investors are thinking similar to mindmeld?

Cool game theory here. Just like the guy who jumped from 50 stories up. 40 stories later he's saying to himself "so far, so good"....

We have the proverbial game of chicken being played out in front of our very eyes. This was big back when I was a kid riding bikes. Big when it was road racers. Big in the takeover boardroom. Why shouldn't it be big on the great boomer playground that is today's stock market?

Last one to blink loses. Meanwhile, stock rockets up.

John.

My faith in myself as an investor is not as great as you may think. I know numbers, but have an ability to predict things about as well as anyone else. Only every once in a blue moon do you get no brainers like this write down event. Most other times, you have to guess like the rest of the pack. As for my allocations, I have almost all of my money in mutual funds. Only 5% of my money is in E-Trade, which is where I hold some Cisco shares. So if my bet doesn't pan out, no worries, it's only a small percentage either way. My investment horizon is pretty long. I still have some Cisco shares from 4 years ago, although I sold some back in March of 2000 to buy some toys and pay off a loan. The shares I own now, I will probably hold for the next 5 years. Because I think we are still in the midst of the tornado as far as the Internet goes. In fact, this last year and the next, may well be looked back on 5 years hence as the quiet before the storm.
