Thank you Jay for your response. I agree with much of what you say.

I think that given the state of affairs of the entire world, the odds for your scenario are possibble in reference to the death of the concept of "long term". However, unless things truly develop negatively in te US to the point of total collapse, in many respects, the world will have to do a lot of catch up to reach the standard of living of the US.

However, I am willing to give a try to "global investment" opportunities, however, the return on investment will have to be carefully considered, since, for the most part, if one is "mentally based" in the US Dollar, one considers the currency risk an add-on risk that shoukd be compensated for. OTOH if the USD would loose value.... then.... well, you know what I mean...
