Glen Scotia distillery, founded in 1832 is said to be haunted by the ghost of a former owner who drowned himself in Campbeltown Loch after being tricked out of a substantial sum of money.

After a period of closure in the mid 1980s the distillery along with Littlemill reopened with backing from the Canadian whisky company Gibson. Now owned by Glen Catrine Bonded Warehouse
