Alan,

The first thing Bush should have done differently was not piss China off with Star Wars and Taiwanese arms sales. He lost NATO support and set up the inevitable confrontation weeks before it actually happened.

Day to day life in California is hardly affected by the phoney-baloney electricity "crisis". Some changes need to be made, and they are happening.
