GM and GE funded the East Timor military government which put down it's people from free government. This military held prisoner many random people, after 1/2 the population(approx. 300,000 people) were killed by the military, a couple of years ago. The blurred lines of intervention have to get clear as the US takes on more "responsibility". Humane and ecological injustices happen all over the world, all the time, and far be it for me to be a judge, only aware of so much about either side, though it is more obvious in some cases than others who is encroaching. I can't be a judge of a situation I feel strongly about-cutting and burning a swatch the size of France (that was over a year ago) out of the Amazon Rainforest for the sake of 12 member farmer families to raise cattle. Who knows how many species were obliterated. Monkeys collected by a Doctor in the Amazon, some which have never even been named before they were found. I recently saw these on a Travel Channel. I have never seen these types of creatures in all my 37 years- they were beautiful and precious. They are also in extreme risk of extinction. The manager of the "zoo" there wanted to keep everything looking "nice", regardless of the health of the monkeys. The Doctor feared his job for mentioning this. The only way they have a chance for survival is ecotourism. Humans will make their mark, more and more, as more and more are born. You have to have hope or ignorance about this to live today. Hopefully the former will win. Nature will never be restored anywhere- it will only be an artificial bandaid for what was ruined for human population and profit. The majority is a huge and growing tide to change.
