Hi marginmike, by your reference to the British exam system, you obviously are tuned in to the fact that class system and "not so merit driven" setups take time to develop, and takes a bit more than 200 years, but not much more than 250 years, unless folks already at the top voluntarily relinquish their power and wealth, and pigs can indeed fly. Some times people can not easily see history as a running river and, as with all rivers, the water eventually pools, one way or another. You know, if it is not one thing, it will be another.
