It's beginning to look like political discussion has saved SI from oblivion, in similar fashion to Rush Limbaugh saving AM radio.

Stock discussions have been severely limited by the various recriminations, including those outrageous lawsuits by companies against bashers, as well as the constant accusations of fraud by bashers against interested long investors. Perhaps publicly-traded companies are not really good ground for public discourse after all (a pity). But the subjects of politics, economics, and even religion are always good for wide-open message board jousting. Such discussion has always been a positive thing in free republics...
