I still see a lot latent bearishness

I'm not trying to sound flippant, but, where? Many of the highest fliers from "the bubble" are now up 75-100% off their lows...of a mere two weeks ago.

Boplicity, based solely on valuation yard sticks, do you think that the bear market so far has brought us down to "fair valuations" by historical standards? If such a swing to bargain has not occurred, we really have not undergone a bear market (despite the 65% plus haircut the naz took), does that mean that traditional bear markets have been eradicated, or that we are still to see actual bear market valuations? I ponder this issue without any good response so far.

When a few "big money" firms on the Street have substantial unrealized losses in their derivatives trading units, well, just give Uncle Al a smile and a wink and he'll help close out those positions going into options expiry.
What we saw in the last two weeks was a tamer version of LTCM from 1998. All of the above is only my opinion, of course, but it seems more apparent to me all the time.
I'm not suggesting foul play here, just the Fed helping to keep the players playing.

Grreg, would you advise putting new money in the market now or waiting for a pullback? Thanks in advance. Read your thread every day.
