It seems there is a lot of discussion about how ATT is going to step in and clean house. When is this going to happen?

At the last possible moment.

With 75% of the voting power, why haven't they already done it?

FCC regulation makes corporate survival illegal.

What do you think of the idea that ATT simply intends to use ATHM as a utility rather than a real profitable company?

This is a word game characterization invented by an amateur, so it has no coherent meaning or possible coherent interpretation.

If ATHM is making a profit, plow the funds back into expanding and upgrading the business.

Silicon Quiche management theory requires that most of the revenues go to support a useless image. Anyone who is qualified knows that it's more important to look good than it is to be good. Contemporary career engineering depends critically on the fact that reward goes to the most useless and least competent.

You talk about the "business" as though it is defined. Since when? You can't define what their business is. Neither can they. The people who work there just show up to collect pay and pray the collection continues.

This keeps C&C happy and helps ATT make cable phone deals with C&C, etc.

Ah, it's in the "etc" where all the unhappiness lies, since there isn't any profit in phone deals.
