Amigo,

XMSR is certainly in an exciting business. With SIRI's delays leaving XMSR as the first fully operational player for several months, most of the investor excitement should sway towards XSMR.

A buyout sounds nice. Who would be a likely suitor?

I have been playing the optics stocks for the last week or so, OCPI, NUFO, ONIS and a few others. They started a nice move on the rumor that Nortel's inventories were drying up and then Greenspan's move kicked them into high gear.

I will be interested to see what OCPI and NUFO say this week in their earnings reports. I think both are well positioned going forward.

NEGI reported nearly $3 a share in profits a few days back and the stock actually fell. I guess money moved out of the energy sector and into tech.

I still like CHK, PNO and NEGI for the long term.

I sold out of RDRT before the earnings report killed the stock. I got lucky on that one.

Sergio

I stand corrected on the XMSR/RRR/MTNT finance deal:

At the initial closing, Rare Medium purchased $25 million of exchangeable notes of Motient. An additional $25 million may be advanced at Motient's request subject to certain terms and conditions, including the mutual agreement of the parties and certain additional approvals of Motient's financing guarantors. The notes will bear interest of 12-1/2 percent per annum and will be secured by a pledge of shares of stock of XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: XMSR - news) held by Motient. The notes are pre-payable at any time in cash, or at Motient's election, in shares of XM stock valued at 95 percent at XM's market price at the time of the exchange. The notes are exchangeable at Rare Medium's option for shares of XM stock at $10.41 per share with respect to the initial advance. A portion of the proceeds of the Notes will be applied to required bank facility repayment and subject to financing guarantor approval for availability to Motient.

The only question is how many "notes" did RRRR get from MTNT and the cost base of those notes. If they rec. the notes for mere pennies on the dollar then why would they not sell on excersise of the XMSR stock at 10.41???

I don't have 10c, so that is my 8c worth. <GGGGG>

Sergio: Glad to hear you are feeling better. Just think how bad it would have been if you still smoked!!!

I have not had time to do anything stock related, or much of anything else.
Been working endlessly, fixing up, repairing, updating and upgrading a rental house of mine that I am preparing to sell.
Making it look like a house to live in, not a rental.

On top of all the stuff surrounding my sister in law, work, working on my rental........our house got hit by the largest hail I have ever seen or heard about.
Hard to believe it, but this hail was from golfball size to tennis ball size. HUGE! and almost tornado winds slaming the hail into everything.

Almost every house within 3 miles every direction from our house, needs New roofs, siding, gutters, windows, etc..
We have over $25,000 in damage on just the house...
Meeting with adjusters, contracters etc....
We will come out ahead on the deal, about 50% of the outside of the house NEW, but I HAVE NO TIME to do everything...
My plate over flow-ith.
Or was that a cup?

I want to get in this contest of yours, but I have zero time on my hands.Maybe a week or two.....

dang! now my keyboard is not working right> spilled coffee on it>>>>>>
AHHHHhhhhh>>>>>>>>

THE ABOVE was typed 12 hours ago. Keyboard dry and working again.
See! My Cup is over flowing!! LOL

I can see it clearly now, it's going to be one of those years.........the ones you try to forget.lol

Thinking about buying some RDRT monday. See if it trys a partial or full Gap fill
I will be watching that two hundred and fifty day moving average!!!!

Sorry for the uplifting post, misery loves company you know!! LOL!

Amigo Sergio....joining you on MTNT this morning...talk about partial fills....took 6 fills for the order to come through....seeeecchhhhh LOL Let's hope for a nice continuation upwards!!!! George A.

p.s, sorry I have not contributed to the real time game....I have a "day" job now and "big brother" does not allow trading on company time!! All my trading is confined to market open and limit orders...some real nail biting has happened on some occasions!!
