Frank unfortunately the >70% portfolio losses for individual investors is not that uncommon. It is not only foolish people who loaded up on .com dreams, it is people who through employee retirement plans who maintained most of the money in one stock. Think of LU or PCG, I am sure there are many.

I really cant imagine what these people think. Imagine 50 years old, you have 30 years of saving maybe several hundred K+ and you risk it in either highly speculative companies or one used to be stable one that tanks.

75% loss means 3 bagger for the whole portfolio for a recovery. If I lost that much I think I would need intensive therapy that I could no longer afford.
