re: Funny how when the oil companies show a decent increase in profits for the first time in a while, it somehow gets perceived as a bad thing by many. Note that Exxon's profits declined sequentially, and the year over year growth pales in comparison to even the poorest of the high tech companies when the boom was still in place in Silicon Valley.

Not bad, just an observation. I would take the YOY profit growth, at least for the last seven quarters.

I guess I understand how people could think the oil companies should be held to a higher standard. It's not like they are inventing a new proprietary product. They are using the worlds resources to create a commodity product the everyone needs. Hope they use their profits to build more refinery capacity.

I take it you own the oils?
