Probably unsold inventory. Would you sell your ten 1.5 GHz P4s for say $250 if you had paid $500 one week earlier?

Not all vendors stock P4, and not all have inventory. All it takes is one without inventory to post the new lower price. Aren't the prices supposed to drop on April 29th?
